A thousand Chrysler and Dodge cars will be recalled in Russia because of the emblem on the steering wheel
The emblem may be poorly secured, creating a risk of injury when the airbag deploys
B 1099 Chrysler and Dodge cars will be sent to Russia for repair. The service promotion will affect cars that were sold since February 2007. The following models were affected by the recall campaign: Chrysler Town & Country and Grand Voyager, as well as Dodge Nitro. According to Rosstandart, the reason for the service action is a possible defect in the driver's airbag.
“The emblem on the driver's airbag may be poorly secured or its fastening may become loose. This may lead to the fact that at the moment of activation, the emblem and its fastenings may not be secured to the airbag casing,” — the department explained.
Rosstandart added that at the time of an accident, loose parts can scatter throughout the cabin and cause injury to the driver and passengers. It is not reported whether such incidents have happened before.
