It has become known when BAIC will launch sales of new SUVs in Russia
The Chinese company BAIC is preparing to introduce on the Russian market a diesel modification of the BJ40 SUV and a new model – the BJ60. The cars will go on sale in the spring and summer, respectively
It is known that the “alternative” The BJ40 will be equipped with a 2.0-liter diesel turbo unit producing 163 hp. and 380 Nm. It will be paired with an automatic transmission. The drive is all-wheel drive (permanent on the rear axle and rigidly connected on the front axle). Let us recall that the petrol version of the BJ40, which has been sold on the Russian market since last summer, is assembled at the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant.
The BJ60 frame all-wheel drive SUV has been sold in its homeland since 2022, and has received several modifications. It is not yet known exactly in what form the car will arrive on the Russian market, but it is unlikely that we are talking about a 2023 facelift. Let's assume that the car goes on sale with a petrol turbo-four. 2.0 liter capacity, paired with a 48-volt starter-generator. Power – 266 hp and 406 Nm. At home, the BJ60 is also available with the same diesel engine as the BJ40 (163 hp and 400 Nm). In all cases, the gearbox is an 8-speed automatic.
